In Batman Begins, Tom Wilkinson played the head criminal Carmine Falcone, with his mob boss accent – very unrefined. You can imagine how surprised we were when we discovered Tom Wilkinson is actually an Englishman, with a distinct English accent, very refined and just the opposite of his character.

Christian Bale, famous as Batman in Christopher Nolan’s popular Batman Begins and the Dark Knight, didn’t start out in the action genre. Early on he even played in chick flicks such as Little Women.

Hugh Laurie, well known for his role as sarcastic Dr. House, played a different range of characters before coming on the show. Despite his incredibly convincing American accent, Laurie is actually British, and his previous roles as English dudes are quite humorous.
